RALEIGH — State Rep. Jennifer Balkcom (R-Henderson) accepted the nomination by Republicans in the state’s 11th Congressional District to replace U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.) on the November ballot.
“I’m blessed to receive the Republican nomination for the 11th Congressional District,” Balkcom said in a statement.
“Western North Carolina is where I was born, raised, and chose to raise my own family.”
Our region is incredibly strong and resilient, and I plan to be the fighter everyone who calls Western North Carolina home deserves.”
North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Jason Simmons echoed Guy’s sentiments, stating Balkcom “has what it takes to be a strong voice for Western North Carolina in Washington.”
