On Monday, Meta announced that it supports Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s data center development regulations, which require ongoing reviews of all data center projects in the state in order to ensure that Texans are not being negatively impacted by AI data center projects. Last week, Meta outlined some of the ways its data center developments benefited local communities, citing expanded job opportunities and reduced utilities costs. According to a recent report by Time Magazine, only a third of Americans approve of the current pace of data center development.
