GCW released a brief statement to our Dave Meltzer about the latest controversy to take over pro wrestling social media chatter this weekend: Arik Cannon’s comments regarding Avery Styles not helping with setup at a GCW event earlier this month. Cannon is not an employee of GCW, but owns Minnesota-based F1RST Wrestling which co-promoted events with GCW during WWE SummerSlam week/weekend in Minneapolis. He was at the GCW show where Styles took on Marcus Mathers where the alleged refusal to set up chairs took place. After the exchange, Cannon got into an exchange with WWE NXT’s Lexis King and shared images of both Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Hart helping out at indie shows while also continuing to debate his detractors. Styles has not commented after two replies to Cannon on Saturday.
