Restricted access, a new booking system and pre-sorted waste measures could be introduced as part of a consultation launched by the Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA). ‌Forecasts suggest the population of our region will increase by around 200,000 by 2037 which will place increasing demand on household waste services. ‌MRWA manages household waste disposal and waste prevention services for the Liverpool City Region, including the operation of Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC). Many waste authorities across the country already operate policies which place annual limits on the number of visits residents can make each year. Under this proposal, limits would be introduced on the number of visits each vehicle could make to HWRCs each year.
