Jollibee is rewriting the playbook for international brands that are expanding in the U.S.
Since it first debuted stateside in Daly City, California, in 1998, the Philippines-based chain has grown to around 100 locations across North America.
Even more impressive is the success it enjoys in those stores: The brand’s average unit volumes here are approaching $5 million.
At the heart of this success is a fried chicken product, Chickenjoy, that has found plenty of fans even beyond the Filipino-heavy communities where Jollibee first plotted its growth.
