Portillo’s has cut its workforce at corporate headquarters and its field team by about 18%, the company said Wednesday. No restaurant-level team members were impacted, the company said, and the total number of jobs cut was not disclosed. “While never an easy decision, it is imperative that we examine areas of the business where we can operate more efficiently and ensure our resources and future investments are directed at the right priorities,” said Brett Patterson, Portillo’s CEO, in a statement. The move came as Portillo’s reported second-quarter results, saying results took a turn for the worse, after flirting with positive traffic in the first quarter.
