Qdoba is the latest chain to pull jalapeños from its menu as a newly discovered salmonella outbreak expands to several states.
In a statement on its website, Qdoba said it is “cooperating with public health authorities as they pursue an active investigation into an outbreak of Salmonella Javiana.
Earlier this week, the Minnesota Department of Health reported that 110 people had been sickened in that state after eating jalapeños, including customers who reported eating at Chipotle.
The first lawsuit stemming from the salmonella outbreak has already been filed by a Minnesota woman hospitalized with sepsis.
The salmonella outbreak follows a now-nationwide and still-growing cyclospora outbreak that began in July and identified lettuce supplied to Taco Bell as a potential source.
