Sweetgreen’s same-store sales were moving in the right direction during the second quarter, thanks in part to the new wraps introduced earlier this year.
Same-store sales were down 6.2% in the June 28-ended quarter.
And Sweetgreen’s negative transactions improved sequentially through the second quarter, down 3% in April and May but ending up flat in June, the company said.
A cyclospora outbreak has put explosive diarrhea in the headlines and is believed to be tied to iceberg lettuce — though the exact source remains unclear.
Sweetgreen’s revenue in the second quarter increased 3.8% to $192.7 million, mostly attributed to restaurant growth.
