Pizza Hut China is officially in Yum China’s hands. Yum Brands announced on Friday that it closed the sale of its Pizza Hut brand in mainland China to Yum China Holdings for $1.2 billion. Yum China currently has about 4,500 Pizza Hut restaurants in over 1,200 cities. Yum China Holdings was incorporated in April 2016 and was formally spun off from Yum Brands in October of that same year. Meanwhile, Yum Brands delivered 7% system sales growth, 6%-unit count growth, and 4% same-store sales growth, excluding Pizza Hut, in the second quarter, reported in late July.
