New Orleans, La - Carmen Martha Seymour Johnson, 85, entered peacefully into eternal rest on July 26, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Johnson was born August 25, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Regina Morgan Seymour and Charles Jules Seymour, Jr. She was one of six siblings and was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Jeanmarie Seymour, Charles J. Seymour III, James M. Seymour, and Rose Marie Cunningham; and her husband, Lofton Johnson, Sr.She attended McDonough 41 and Xavier Preparatory School before graduating from Joseph S. Clark High School. She served in the United States Women's Army Corps from 1962 to 1965 and was honorably discharged following her military service. Carmen Martha Seymour Johnson is survived by her children, Jeanmarie M. Sculfield, Jeannine M. Sculfield, and Jean-Pierre M. Sculfield; her grandchildren, Dallas Hightower, Maleia Gentile-Sculfield, and Makailea Gentile-Sculfield; her brother, Reginald J. Seymour, Sr. (Gerry); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and cherished friends. Interment with Military Honors will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, at 11:00 a.m.
