New Orleans, LA - George Anthony "Football" Fortier III entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family after suffering an epileptic seizure. George was the beloved son of the late George Fortier Jr. and Mrs. Ethel Mae Gould Fortier. Throughout his career, George was employed by the New Orleans Public School Board, Dillard University, and Lowe's Home Improvement in both New Orleans, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas. George was preceded in death by his daughter, Jasmin Abram; father, George Fortier Jr.; 2 brothers, Rodney Fortier and Tyrone Gould; grandparents, George and Jerusha Goodman Fortier, Isaac and Julia Harrison Gould, and Bobbie Jean Miles; and goddaughter, Felicia Gould. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Torrie Abram Fortier; mother, Mrs. Ethel Mae Gould Fortier; 2 sons, Theron Fortier and Jourdan Fortier; and 2 grandsons, Terry Williams Jr. and Tyler King Fortier.
