Gretna, Louisiana - Betty "Jean" Hollingsworth, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, after living a long, full, and well-loved life. Jean was born to the late William P. Smith and Mary Jane Letterman Smith in Asheville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Carl "Danny" Hollingsworth, Betty "Karlene" Sacco, and Linda Sue Mackie; and her siblings, William "McCoy" Smith and Dorothy Thibodeaux. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her grandchildren, Tammy Cooke (Eddie), Paul Sacco, Terry Mackie (Cheryl), Stephanie Sacco, and Natalie Hollingsworth; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Jean dedicated 30 years of service in administration with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office before retiring.
