Harvey, LA - Dr. Daud Malik Watts, born Robert Leroy Watts on December 18, 1950, was a scholar, author, father, teacher, historian, musician, and visionary. Dr. Watts passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Daud is survived by his mother, the 99 year old family matriarch, Sarah Frances Watts-Henry; his brothers Francis (and his wife Sheila), Frederick (and his wife Monica), Rodney, Courtney; his children, Bilqis, Nasir, Mahmud, Netanya (and her husband Keith Hart), and Thomasina; his stepchildren, Aisha, Abina (French), Yasmina, Memuna (Craig), Oba, Khaliq, Adam, Abdul, Yusuf, and Usama; his grandchildren, Nandi (Kwame), Sylvia Maya, CJ, Braden, Levi, Osei, Naomi, Noble, Victoria, Judah and Jacob; and his great-grandchildren Kawhi, Akobi, and Kyair.
