Allowing households to ‘earn’ free electricity to be used during the following weekend and a competition to win free solar panels and installation, or a £12,000 cash alternative. ‌Eclipse Power DownThe eclipse is expected to take place between 6pm and 8pm on August 12 and will affect solar power capabilities during the darkest parts. Solar eclipse competitionTo mark the rare celestial event, Octopus Energy is also encouraging people to grab some photos of the solar eclipse to enter a competition that could win them a full rooftop solar installation or £12,000 in cash.
