As fans remember Robin Williams 12 years after his unexpected death, some are also recalling how a health misdiagnosis led him to some “erratic” behavior in the months before his demise.
The Hollywood legend passed away on August 11, 2014, at the age of 63.
His cause of death was ruled to be asphyxiation by suicide, and details later revealed he had recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
His autopsy later revealed the dark truth that he had been misdiagnosed and was actually suffering from Lewy Body Dementia instead, which may have played a direct role in his demise, given the symptoms it can produce.
These sparked concerns before he ended up taking his own life, and have since painted a wider picture of what was going on with the actor at the time.
