The court heard several elements of escalating abusive behaviours, including Rayne damaging the woman's property, throwing items at her, and punching her repeatedly. ‌"I used to feel like I was a normal person, but I no longer feel that way. ‌She continued: "Reliving and speaking about the abuse in court forced me to revisit some of the most traumatic experiences of my life. After being arrested and interviewed by officers, Rayne denied any wrongdoing, and later pleaded not guilty at Newcastle Crown Court.
