After his fourth Hawaii New Year’s tour, political comedian Bill Maher must have realized he had to do more to keep Hawaii audiences coming out, to keep his show feeling fresh. To mix it up and make the show bigger, Maher added David Spade and Jeffrey Ross to the bill this year. As funny as the additions to the bill were — and Maher said he plans to bring two different comedians with him every year — the looser show seemed to keep Maher from getting into his usual flow.
