The road to Kok-Zhaiyk pasture has been closed to cars and motorized vehicles, the Jeti-Oguz Forestry named after Zh. The restriction was introduced in accordance with a Cabinet of Ministers resolution and instructions from regional and district authorities. According to the forestry, the measure was prompted by tourists driving off designated roads and damaging the green meadows. Particular damage has also been attributed to dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Forestry officials said that since the restrictions were introduced, the damaged green areas have begun to recover.
