Typically, when we think about therapy, we believe it’s about talking with our therapist about the issues we’re having.
Often, therapy starts and ends with talking about the issues and feelings that occur outside the therapy office.
The point is to guide clients in becoming curious and attuned to what’s happening in the present moment.
In other words, what happens between the therapist and client is also part of the therapy.
What if a client could say, “I’m angry with you,” and instead of the therapist becoming defensive, the therapist became curious?
