Baton Rouge, La - Rose Gibson Ellzey passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia on August 8, 2026. Rose was born on January 27,1939 in Harrisonburg, Louisiana to the late David Wana and Olive Gibson. Rose graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA with a degree in Education. Rose is survived by her son's Ken Ellzey, Jr. (Marilyn), David Ellzey, daughter Katherine Wilkinson (Horace) and four grandchildren; Grant Wilkinson, Grace Wilkinson, Gibson Ellzey and Haynes Ellzey. Rose was preceded in death by her sisters Dr. Wana Ann Fort, Marjorie Sharp, Jane Noonan, Polly Hamilton and Lee Mills.
