The Government-funded BioSTAR-Lab will give students hands-on experience with the latest equipment and techniques used in modern life sciences and healthcare settings, including cancer diagnostics, microbiology and molecular biology. The facility is designed to address rising demand for skilled biomedical professionals across the UK and will support research into cancer, infectious diseases and molecular techniques. The investment comes amid growing demand for life sciences talent. The UK life sciences sector already employs more than 304,000 people and generates more than £108 billion in annual turnover. Students in biomedical science, biotechnology, cancer biology, and related disciplines will use the lab to carry out research projects which build practical experience and technical skills.
