The Swan Inn in Hoxne, near Eye, was expected to reopen this summer, but plans were postponed due to delays caused by structural issues.
It was taken on by Paul McAstocker, owner of the north London-based pub group Twenty6, who aimed to bring it back to life.
A statement from the pub said: "With very heavy hearts, we have to let you know that we’re going to have to delay the opening of The Swan Inn.
"But we have to do this properly, safely and to the standard The Swan deserves."
While no new opening date has been set, the team has promised to keep the community updated.
