The Coastal Accessible Transport Service (CATS), proposed introducing a scheduled service between Snape and Saxmundham in east Suffolk, operating twice a week.
Benjamin Gulliford, marketing and admin lead at CATS, said the campaigners had refused CATS' offer saying it was the "wrong service" and preferring instead a regular bus provided by a commercial operator, rather than the charity service.

But Snape villager John Harris, one of the bus campaigners, said: "It was rejected following consultation with 100 or so Snape villagers.
"Snape villagers and Snape Parish Council want a regular and reliable public bus service going to Saxmundham, Aldeburgh and Woodbridge.
