Demand for allotment spaces in Inverness continues to outgrow current availability, with 85 people having been on the city waiting list for two years running. The number of people on the waitlist for Inverness plots has stayed the same for two years running. Overall there are 106 people currently waiting for an allotment plot across the Highlands, but in Inverness the concentration is much higher. The only Inverness allotment site, Hawthorn has 69 plots. Ullapool is next with 65, the Milnafua allotment in Alness has 24 plots, Lybster has 21 and Wick has 11.
