Hayley Webb, an outdoor instructor who runs Hayley Webb Mountain Adventures, discovered the site on the shores of Derwentwater in Borrowdale at 7.30am on Saturday, August 8. Near Kettlewell Car Park, the campsite consisted of a fire and two tents. Ms Webb, who works full-time in the outdoors offering mountain leader training, said that illegal campsites in the Lake District have become a daily occurrence. She spoke to the group of men, attempting to educate them that fires and camping are prohibited in Lake District beauty spots. The group of men did not take her advice on board.
