Harrison Ainsbury, of Water Garth on Walney, previously pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, racially / religiously aggravated criminal damage and racially / religiously aggravated common assault / beating. On that occasion, South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard the 20-year-old was riding his motorbike on Duke Street on September 18, 2024, when he deliberately kicked the victim, a takeaway driver, off his own motorbike. The court heard the takeaway driver was knocked onto the path but did ‘not suffer the most serious of injuries’. Chats on Ainsbury’s mobile phone revealed his decision was deliberate and racially motivated in terms of his ethnicity. He will be sentenced on Wednesday at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court.
