The Bambisanani Partnership, which involves the University of Leeds and KZN Cycling, has helped more than 12,000 young people in KwaZulu-Natal learn to ride and maintain bicycles.
This work led to the Bambisanani Partnership being named International Sport and Physical Education Charity of the Year.
Alec Lenferna, chief executive of KZN Cycling, and Suzzi Garnett from the University of Leeds will receive the award on behalf of the partnership.
The Bambisanani Partnership uses sport and education to promote leadership, health and global citizenship.
It began as a collaboration between St Mary's Catholic School in Yorkshire and Mnyakanya High School in rural KwaZulu-Natal in 2006.
