Australia’s woke reverence for indigenous people misses a few things

In today’s Australia, we live in a world where every council meeting, small or large, starts with a “welcome to country.”
Aboriginal land husbandry, so-called “Cultural Burning,” has relegated Australians to gum trees—the rest died out through thousands of years because they could not survive relentless man-made fires.
These constant man-made fires didn’t allow regeneration for anything but eucalyptus trees.
AdvertisementAs an aside, “man-made” fires are something of a misnomer.
The Aborigines also ate our Megafauna, which is also what the Clovis people (North America’s first indigenous people) did.
