Hundreds quit smoking in Warrington as stop smoking service beats UK average

They were supported by the borough’s Stop Smoking Services, achieving a 77 per cent success rate compared to the national average of 53 per cent.
Despite progress, the percentage of smokers who successfully quit through Stop Smoking Services has declined, dropping from 59 per cent in 2020–21 to 53 per cent in 2025–26.
"There is no one-size-fits-all way to quit smoking, so it is very positive that Stop Smoking Services offer a range of options to their clients."
According to the data, Warrington outperformed the national average with a 77 per cent quit rate.
A recent scientific journal article highlighted that flavoured vapes are one of the most commonly offered interventions by Stop Smoking Services.
