When London’s Metropolitan Police ran a targeted enforcement operation in some of the capital’s wealthiest districts over the weekend, plenty of high-end machinery came under scrutiny.
One was the driver of a rare Ferrari Monza SP2 who allegedly lacked the proper license and insurance, despite the very serious metal they were piloting.
The Monza, an example of which recently sold for around $5 million (£3.7 million), had reportedly been in the UK for a single day when police stopped it.
The driver had been at the wheel for less than half an hour, according to the Metropolitan Police, and allegedly held only a provisional licence with no insurance.
The open-top speedster was the headline catch in a wider crackdown across Hyde Park, Kensington, and Chelsea between August 7 and 9.
