Earlier this Summer a planning application to install self-service washing machines in a small new-build structure on Chapel Street, Little Germany, was submitted to Bradford Council by 24hr Laundrette Ltd. The application said the building, planned for a car park area next to Casapian House, would house three washing machines that could be accessed by the public. “The main concern to this proposal is noise generated from the washing machines associated with the proposed self-service 24-hour laundrette facility. “The application has been supported by a number of documents including a Noise Impact Assessment which has been measured against the existing background noise levels at Peckover Street car park. “The submitted Noise Impact Assessment states that the proposed laundrette will have a minor or negligible impact for noise sensitive receivers.”
