Police said that the victim was a 41-year-old man who lives in Rabat. Police said that the diver was brought ashore by the Armed Forces of Malta at the quay in Bugibba. A medical team assisted him, but he was certified dead a short time later. Magistrate Monica Borg Galea is leading an inquiry while investigations by the police and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are also ongoing.
