FARGO — Taking pictures of children as they head off to their first day of school has been a tradition for quite some time. ADVERTISEMENTThe Fargo Police Department wants parents to be aware of the potential dangers of posting the pictures online. Matt Niemeyer, a school resource officer with the Fargo Police Department, said photos showing what school the child attends, their bus stop, even something as small as a school logo or name can potentially show strangers where the child is five days out of the week. "All of these things, that age of public information can be used to gain more information and potentially find them. And parents should avoid posting any personal information about the child online.
