Council speaks out after parked car blocks roadworks

The incident happened on Hinton Crescent in Hereford on Friday, August 7, when a silver Toyota was left on the road despite advance warnings about resurfacing.
Herefordshire Council has confirmed that workers were unable to complete the full stretch because the car had not been moved, despite efforts to notify residents ahead of time.
"We make every effort to notify residents in advance, both by letter and through signs on site, where vehicles need to be moved," said Herefordshire Council on August 10.
"On this occasion, a vehicle had not been moved, so the team worked around it rather than delay the wider scheme.
The resurfacing is part of a wider programme covering more than 140 roads across Herefordshire, funded by a £37 million investment in roads, footpaths, and public spaces.
