The hoard of 268 silver Roman denarii was found by Nigel Taylor on farmland near the villages of Weobley and Dilwyn in February 2019. However, during a later search, Mr Taylor found another coin, which his wife Helen suspected to be Roman. This was confirmed by Mr Reavill as a coin from the reign of Septimus Severus, who ruled from 193 to 211 AD. The Weobley Hoard, as it was named, was then transported to The British Museum in London for cleaning, cataloguing, and independent valuation.
