Friends Place in Reading, which specialises in residential, dementia, respite, and day care, marked the anniversary with an event in July attended by more than 150 family, friends and members of the local community. Alina Gutu, general manager at Friends Place, said: "Since Friends Place opened in July 2025, we have been very honoured to welcome so many wonderful residents, respite and day care clients to our lovely care home. "Our First Anniversary Party and all the celebrations were just one of our many community events which, as we promise to the residents, keep them involved with, and part of, the local community." The party featured live music, garden games, entertainment, a barbecue, and refreshments. The care home, run by Friends of the Elderly, serves as a community hub and offers a packed schedule of events, dining experiences, and personalised care plans for every resident.
