LOADING ERROR LOADINGCaffeinated drinks like tea and coffee can have some impressive heart health benefits, according to research.
Well, if we’re talking heart health here, the American Heart Association (AHA) shared updated advice recently.
For better heart health, stick to fewer than five cups of coffee a dayThe AHA said in a statement that up to 400mg of caffeine, or five 240ml (eight-ounce) cups of coffee, a day, “is generally safe for most adults and appears to be linked to a lower risk of several cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure, heart disease and stroke in some individuals”.
Drinking unsweetened black coffee has been linked to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, heart failure and some irregular heart rhythms.
Caffeine doesn’t seem to be the only factor at play here, either: decaf coffee is still linked to better health outcomes than no coffee at all.
