Sir Kevin Sinfield and comedian Johnny Vegas both exited in the first round. Sir Kevin’s partner, Jonathan Peter Whitworth, later donated £1,000 to the Steve Prescott Foundation and to Motor Neurone Disease charities as part of 'The Extra Mile with Kev Sinfield' community, bringing his total contributions to £6,500. The tournament winners, Tommy Martyn and Paul Kelly, received the Lol Pennington Memorial Cup, named in memory of Johnny Vegas' late father.
