Bengaluru: Water will be released into the canals from the Tungabhadra Reservoir at the rate of 4,100 cusecs for 90 days, based on the availability of water in the reservoir, said Irrigation Advisory Committee Chairman and Koppal district in-charge Minister Shivraj Tangadagi. The reservoir currently has around 82 TMC of water, while an additional 16 TMC is expected to flow into the reservoir in the coming days, he said. According to the decision, water will be released into the Tungabhadra Left Bank Main Canal at 4,100 cusecs from August 11 to November 10. In addition, 500 cusecs of water will be released into the river from August 11 to August 17, he said. “We are hopeful that, by God’s grace, the region will receive good rainfall and the reservoir will get more inflows.
