At least five caravans moved onto land at Westfield Road Park near Gosbrook Road more than a week ago. Another resident voiced their frustration, adding that the encampment is blocking public access to play cricket and football at the park. In a message seen by the Reading Chronicle, it is understood that Thames Valley Police visited the park over the weekend to conduct a full site assessment. A spokesman for Reading Borough Council said: "We are aware of an encampment at Westfield Road and attended the site last Tuesday to issue a notice to quit. The council said they are in frequent contact with their partners, Thames Valley Police, who are 'monitoring' the situation.
