The bridge links coastal communities across East Sussex. In an update, East Sussex Highways said that piling installation was underway on the west side of the river and set to continue until the end of August. Exceat Bridge is currently a single-lane bridge, creating a longstanding bottleneck on the A259. Jackson Civil Engineering, appointed to deliver the new bridge, is working closely with East Sussex County Council on the construction programme.
