The man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene after police were called to a flat on Blackshaw Lane, off Wigan Road in Deane, on Sunday, May 17, this year. Two men, aged 48 and 49, were arrested and taken into custody for questioning as police announced they were treating the incident as a murder investigation. Officers appeared to have been at the scene on Blackshaw Lane since midnight the night before on Saturday, May 16. Police announced just before midday on Sunday, May 17, that the man had died and that they were treating the incident as a murder investigation.
