Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are continuing to battle a major fire on the A31 in the New Forest. Yesterday, August 10, many people across Sussex reported seeing and smelling smoke. However, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed this is due to the direction of winds blowing smoke from the incident in Dorset. "Due to the direction of the wind, residents across Sussex may have seen and smelt the smoke from this incident. Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service have been assisted by neighbouring services to tackle the blaze.
