Luke Smith, 23, of Llawr y Nant in Bethesda, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday. Magistrates heard that on March 28 this year, Smith was on a weekend away with his partner when they had a row in the hotel room. The court was also told that when officers were called to the room, Smith resisted arrest and was bundled to the floor by police. Chris Hunt, defending, told the court that his client was ‘deeply remorseful and apologetic’ about his offending. Magistrates fined Smith £400 and ordered him to a pay a court surcharge of £160 and prosecution costs of £85 plus the £1,554.50 in compensation.
