Planning inspectors have confirmed that Wokingham Borough Council’s draft Local Plan Update is likely to be found “sound and legally compliant,” subject to some changes and further public consultation. Stephen Conway, leader of Wokingham Borough Council, said: "This is a significant and positive step towards adoption of a new local plan. "Having an up-to-date local plan is essential to ensuring growth is properly planned, infrastructure is delivered in the right places, and we retain as much local control as possible over future development." The council will now prepare a list of proposed changes before holding another round of public consultation later this year. An official date for public consultation on the modified plan has not yet been announced.
