Marcin Golembowski, 47, of Cranford Court, Chester, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 11.
Mr Roberts was heading in the direction of Belgrave Primary, before turning into Castlecroft Road where he had been approaching a crossing.
Golembowski stopped the car and attempted to ask Mr Roberts whether he required an ambulance or wished for him to call the police.
Mr Roberts wife later picked him up and took him home, where his dog was waiting.
Chair, Roy Barron, told Golembowski that he had ‘made every attempt to help on that day, but what you didn’t do was inform the police’.
