ASUN recently launched a new Automation and Electrical Technology Degree Program on the ASUN-Jonesboro Campus. ASU-Newport is launching a new Automation and Electrical Technology program on the school’s Jonesboro campus designed to prepare students for high-paying careers in advanced manufacturing, energy production and food processing. To support the new program and the university’s growing emphasis on advanced technical education, ASU-Newport has also established the Division of Electrical Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing. “The Automation and Electrical Technology program represents the kind of responsive, workforce-driven education that is central to ASU-Newport’s mission,” Interim Chancellor Ike Wheeler said. The new Division of Electrical Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing will provide academic and administrative support for the Automation and Electrical Technology program while helping ASU-Newport strengthen partnerships with regional employers and respond to emerging workforce needs.
