NASA’s Roman Space Telescope is entering final Falcon Heavy integration nine months ahead of schedule as its August launch target approaches.
NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope has entered a decisive phase of launch preparations at Kennedy Space Center, bringing one of the agency’s most ambitious observatories closer to deep space.
That fitting provides the structural connection needed to secure Roman to the second stage of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket.
Technicians are expected to place the entire observatory inside a Falcon Heavy payload fairing later this month.
If the current target holds, Roman will soon transition from a major NASA development program into an operational space observatory.
