By Johnny Askounis/ info@eurohoops.netThe journey of an athlete rarely follows a linear path, but few trajectories are as fascinating as that of forward Ian Schieffelin. After a productive four-year college basketball career with Clemson, where he averaged 12.4 points and 9.4 rebounds during his final season, Schieffelin made a surprising pivot. The bold cross-sport experiment provided him with a unique blend of physical conditioning and mental toughness that few modern prospects possess. He averaged 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per Summer League contest. If he makes the opening night roster, the former collegiate tight end will transition from catching footballs to sharing the court with newly acquired Greek superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
