Amy Allen, executive member for environment at North Herts Council, said: "We’re asking everyone to be wildfire aware and to take a few simple precautions when enjoying the outdoors this summer.
"Most wildfires are preventable, and by taking these steps we can all help protect North Herts’ wildlife, natural habitats and green spaces for everyone to enjoy."
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has reported an increase in outdoor fires this summer, linking the rise to high temperatures and dry conditions.
Area commander Greg Duke said: "Recent hot and dry weather has led to an increase in outdoor fires across Hertfordshire.
North Herts Council and the fire service also recommend following all local signage and advice in parks and nature reserves during periods of high wildfire risk.
